Braces Case Study: Week 2
I finally seem used to the brace. It no longer feels alien, and I don’t really think about it too much. I had to have a new bracket fitted as the one I had, came off (Nga had advised me we may have a slight problem with it because it’s attaching to my crown). When it came off, I was at work. I contacted the practice and Nga arranged for me to come in that day and have it re-fitted it. The service I received was exceptional. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to see anyone, plus it was a Friday and maybe my brace wouldn’t be working over the weekend. However I needn’t have worried. Nga was great, she re- assured me if anything happened like this again just to contact the surgery and they will always manage to fit me in.
I still find eating a problem, Nga keeps telling me to chew but I find it uncomfortable, I still keep eating rice with my evening meal and soup for lunch. I am also very paranoid about food being stuck in the brace, I carry a toothbrush with me everywhere, and also have a spare in my desk at work just in case. I have never been so keen on oral hygiene before.
